The Importance of Regular Wood Floor Care

Hardwood floors are not low maintenance, but they are beautiful when cleaned and cared for properly.  For some, this may seem like a hassle, but routine cleaning is essential if you want to enjoy your floors for years to come.  Sweep or vacuum weekly, and mop with a damp dust mop twice a month or so, depending on traffic.  This maintains the floor's finish and minimizes scratches from dirt and grit.  Clean up spills immediately with a dry or slightly damp cloth and avoid using too much moisture when cleaning your floors.  Also, felt protector pads can be used under furniture to prevent scratches.

The most important reason to keep your floors clean is longevity.  Regular wood floor care will extend the life of your floor and protect your investment. It's much easier to regularly maintain your floors than it is to repair or replace them.  Additionally, wood floors that are dirty and scratched are uncomfortable to walk and play on.  Having your hardwood floors cleaned regularly means that your home will feel better, look better, and be better for the health of your family.
